<br />,- <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />II <br />I <br />II <br />I <br />I <br />II <br />II <br />!I <br />'II - <br />I <br />II <br />II <br />\1 <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />II' <br />i <br />II <br />Ii <br />Ii <br />II <br />:1 <br />Ii <br />Ii <br />I <br /> <br />CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF LAKESHORE <br /> <br />By-Law No. 58-2001 <br /> <br />A BY-LAW TO REGULATE THE HEIGHT AND <br />DESCRIPTION OF FENCES <br /> <br />WHEREAS the Municipal Act R.S.O. 1990, c.MAS, as amended, authorizes <br />I municipalities to pass by-laws prescribing the height and description of lawful fences and to <br />require owners of privately-owned outdoor swimming pools to erect and maintain fences and <br />gates around such swimming pools; <br /> <br />AND WHEREAS it is deemed necessary for the municipality to issue a permit <br />[ for the proper construction of such fences; <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the Corporation of The Town of Lakeshore <br />enacts as follows: <br /> <br />PART I <br /> <br />Interpretation <br />1. In this by-law, <br />(a) "building" shall mean a structure consisting of a foundation, enclosing <br />walls and a roof, that is used or intended to be used for the purpose of <br />supporting or sheltering persons or animals or storing property; <br />(b) "Chief Building Official" shall mean a person designated as such by <br />Council; <br />(c) "comer lot" shall mean a lot situated at the intersection of two or more <br />public highways; <br />(d) "Council" shall mean the Council of the Corporation of the Town of <br />Lakeshore; <br />(e) "dwelling" shall mean a building or other structure used for human <br />habitation; <br />(f) "farm fence" shall mean a fence erected for the purpose of enclosing <br />livestock, crops, water areas, wood lots, buildings, fields or lane ways for <br />agricultural purposes; <br />(g) "fence" shall mean any continuous barrier made of chain, wood, stone, <br />masonry, lattice work screen or other such material, or a hedge or other <br />such thick growth of shrubs or trees, constructed, installed or grown along <br />the perimeter of lands, whether the lands are occupied or not, so as to give <br />
