THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF LAKESHORE <br />BY-LAW NO. 112-2014 <br />A BY-LAW TO AMEND 27-2013 BEING A BY-LAW TO ADOPT A COMMUNITY <br />IMPROVEMENT PLAN <br />FOR THE BELLE RIVER BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT AREA <br />VHEREAS By-law 154-2008 "Being a By-law to designate a "Community Improvement <br />Iroject Area" pursuant to Section 28(2) of the Planning Act, was passed by the Council <br />f The Corporation of the Town of Lakeshore on the gth day of December 2008 and By- <br />iw 154-2008 remains valid and properly supports the adoption of the Community <br />-nprovement Plan; <br />,ND WHEREAS by By-law No. 27-2013 the Council adopted a Community <br />nprovement Plan for the Belle River Business Improvement Project Area for the <br />urpose of facilitating community improvement through various initiatives and incentives <br />s set out in the Plan; <br />ND WHERES Council deems it necessary to amend By-law No. 27-2013; <br />ND WHEREAS the Community Improvement Plan for the Belle River Business <br />iprovement Area conforms to the Official Plan of the Town of Lakeshore; <br />IOW THEREFORE the Council of The Corporation of the Town of Lakeshore pursuant <br />) Section 28 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P.13, hereby enacts as follows: <br />1. That Schedule "A" of By-law 27-2013 be and the same is hereby amended as <br />follows: <br />1. Section 4.3.2.2 Development Charges Grant Back Program is amended <br />as follows: <br />1.1 By deleting the first paragraph under Details and replacing it with the <br />lowing: <br />The Development Charges Grant Back Program shall consist of a grant <br />program, whereby registered property owners / or assignees will be <br />eligible to receive a grant for a portion or all of the development charges <br />owing for certain classes of development when developing underutilized <br />sites and redevelopment on commercial and mixed use properties in the <br />downtown area, waterfront district and newer commercial core as a <br />means to encourage investment through additional commercial space <br />and or residential units above commercial units. <br />1.2 By deleting the third paragraph under Eligible Criteria and replacing it <br />with the following: <br />Grant backs can be made to property owners or an agent authorized by <br />the owner undertaking work consistent with the goals of the Community <br />Improvement Plan, when developing underutilized sites and <br />redevelopment on commercial and mixed use properties in the <br />downtown area, waterfront district and newer commercial core as a <br />means to encourage investment through additional commercial space <br />and or residential units above commercial units. <br />
