4rnerdecl by: 31-a605- <br />CORPORATION <br />1-aov5 <br />CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF LAKESHORE <br />BEING A BY-LAW TO PROVIDE FOR THE <br />REGULATION OF WATER SUPPLY IN THE <br />TOWN OF LAKESHORE <br />WHEREAS the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. 2001, C. 25, as amended provides that <br />municipalities may acquire, establish, maintain and operate water works; <br />AND WHEREAS the Municipal Act 2001 provides that by-laws may be passed by the <br />council for the maintenance and management of water works; <br />NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN <br />OF LAKESHORE ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: <br />TABLE OF CONTENTS <br />DEFINITIONS........................................................................................ <br />APPLICATION FOR WATER SERVICE....................................................... <br />WATER RATES AND CHARGES............................................................... <br />SECURITY DEPOSITS............................................................................ <br />WATER SYSTEM OPERATION................................................................. <br />WATER SERVICES................................................................................. <br />WATERMETERS................................................................................... <br />USE OF WATER EXTERNALLY................................................................. <br />PROHIBITIONS.................................................................................... . <br />ENFORCEMENT.................................................................................... <br />REPEALS............................................................................................. <br />EFFECTIVEDATE................................................................................. <br />DEFINITIONS <br />In this by-law: <br />1.1 "Building" shall have the same meaning as set out in the Building Code Act, S.O. <br />1992, c. 23, as amended, or any successor thereof; <br />1.2 "Bulk Water user" shall mean any customer who draws water from a pipe located <br />at the Town's Bulk Water Stations; <br />1.3 "Contractor" shall mean a person, partnership, or corporation who contracts to <br />undertake the execution of work commissioned by the owner or the Town to <br />install or maintain mains, service mains, services, hydrants and other <br />appurtenances; <br />1.4 "Cross Connection" shall mean any temporary, permanent or potential water <br />connection that may allow backflow of contaminants, pollutants, infectious <br />agents, other material or substance that will change the water quality in the water <br />works distribution system and includes swivel or changeover devices, removable <br />sections, jumper connections and bypass arrangements; <br />1.5 "Customer" shall mean any person who enters into a verbal or written contract <br />with the Town to take water from the Town or to receive water related services <br />from the Town; <br />1.6 "Developer" shall mean the owner or party specifically named in a Development <br />Agreement or in a Subdivision Agreement; <br />1.7 "Director of Public Works" means a person designated as such by Council; <br />1.8 "Engineer" shall mean the engineer appointed by the council; <br />1 <br />3 <br />3 <br />5 <br />5 <br />6 <br />8 <br />11 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />13 <br />
