THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF LAKESHORE BY-LAW 58-2008 BEING A BY-LAW TO AMEND BY-LAW 9-2007, WHICH PROVIDES RULES GOVERNING THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LAKESHORE AND THE CONDUCT OF ITS MEMBERS WHEREAS, By-law 9-2007 being a by-law to provide rules governing the proceedings of the Council of the Town of Lakeshore and the conduct of its members was adopted on May 22, 2007; AND WHEREAS, it is necessary to add three new sections to part 8 of the Rules of Debate in Council and to amend section 3.2 b) to facilitate earlier commencements to Council meetings. NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Lakeshore enacts as follows: That parts 3.2 b) and c) of procedural by-law 9-2007 be deleted and replaced with the following: Date and Time of Reaular Meetings b) Regular Council meetings shall be held the second and fourth Tuesday of each month throughout the year, with the exception of June, July and August when meetings shall be held according to the approved schedule. A meeting calendar will be presented by the Clerk to Council for approval in December of each year detailing the dates for all Regular Council meetings in the subsequent year. All regular meetings of Council shall commence at 6:00 p.m. or at such time established by Council. c) Planning Meetings will be held on the Monday preceding the fourth Tuesday of each month commencing at 6:00 p.m. or at such time established by Council to hold public meetings as required by the Planning Act. and that sections 8.9, 8.10, and 8.11 be added to Part 8 -Rules of Debate in Council. PART 8 -RULES OF DEBATE IN COUNCIL 8.9 Matters of a minor and urgent nature that require a Council decision may be brought forward by a member of Council under Non-Agenda business. 8.10 Questions which are of a general municipal concern, policy related or ward specific in nature should be directed to the appropriate department during regular business hours. 8.11 Members of Council are encouraged to contact the appropriate Director prior to the meeting to raise questions related to items listed on the agenda. All other clauses and provisions of the said By-law Number 9-2007 shall be and remain in full force and effect.
