<br />THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF LAKESHORE <br /> <br />BY-LAW 8-2000 <br /> <br /> <br />Being a By-law respecting construction, <br />Demolition and Change of Use Permits <br />and inspections. <br /> <br />WHEREAS Section 7 of the Building Code Act, 1992, empowers <br />Council to pass certain by-laws respecting construction, demolition and change <br />of use permits and inspections. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF <br />LAKESHORE BY ITS COUNCIL ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. This by-law may be cited as the Building By-law. <br /> <br />2. In this by-law: <br /> <br />(a) "Act" means the Building Code Act, 1992, including <br />amendments thereto. <br /> <br />(b) "Building" means a building as defined in Section (1) of the <br />Act. <br /> <br />(c) "Building Code" means the regulations made under Section <br />34 of the Act. <br /> <br />(d) "Chief Building Official" means the Chief Building Official <br />appointed by by-law of the Corporation of the Town of <br />Lakeshore for the purposes of enforcement of the Act. <br /> <br />(e) <br /> <br />"Corporation" means The Corporation of the Town of <br />Lakeshore. <br /> <br />(g) <br /> <br />"Plumbing" means plumbing as defined in Section 1(1) of <br />the Act. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />i <br />!I <br />II <br />i <br />II <br />, <br />i <br />I <br /> <br />(f) <br /> <br />"Farm Building" means a farm building as defined in the <br />Building Code. <br /> <br />(h) <br /> <br />"Permit" means written permission or written authorization <br />from the Chief Building Official to perform work regulated <br />by the by-law and the Act. <br /> <br />(i) "Sewage System" means a sewage system as defined in <br />Section 1 (1) of the Act. <br /> <br />3. Terms not defined in this by-law shall have the meaning ascribed to <br />them in the Act or the Building Code. <br /> <br />4. Classes of permits with respect to the construction, demolition and <br />change of use of buildings shall be as set out in Schedule "A" to this by- <br />law. <br /> <br />5. BUILDING PERMIT <br /> <br />No person shall construct or demolish a building or cause a building to <br />be constructed or demolished within the geographic limits of the Town of <br />Lakeshore unless a permit has been issued therefore by the Chief <br />Building Official. <br />
